Orgy Live at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds August 7, 1999.

To actually make everyone understand why this day was so weird, you have to know what was going on before the concert. My wisdom teeth decided to come in about 2 days before EndFest, and I didn't have the money to get them pulled out, so I had to suffer. I couldn't eat because my jaw was swollen up and I couldn't open my mouth. The night before EndFest, I waited until midnight upstairs at April's house for Kristen. By the time she did get there, April had been asleep for about an hour. I was a little tired, and I knew that we had to get up at 4:30 a.m., so I was like "yay." In case you're wondering, we had to get up at 4:30 because Endfest started at 10:00 am, and we had drove to the place the week before and discovered that it took over three hours to get there. We wanted to make sure we didn't miss one Orgy sighting. We decided to paint a sign for our favorite DJ, Kim Monroe, so we got paint and stayed up until about 1:30 am doing that. It said "Kim kix ass!!" Heh heh. Then we got the giggles and stayed up until 2:30, when we finally fell asleep. April came up at 4:31 a.m. and turned the lights on and told us to get up. I felt like I had been hit by a train. 3 days without eating and 2 hours of sleep, now that's got to be healthy. We got dressed in the shirts we had made the day before. Mine was white and said "Paige" across the front, April's was white and said "Amir" across the front, and Kristen's was black and said "Jay" across the front. They all said "orgy" across the back. You can see pictures of us in our shirts here. Remember, I'm packing cameras in the picture, so that explains my not-so-happy smile. I had also bought a pair of fishnets and ripped them up to make arm things like Paige's. I'm not wearing them in the pics though. I hadn't put them on yet. We also bought presents, I bought Paige a big green slinky, (sick hopes or recreating a certain slinky picture) and some really cool purple sparkly shoelaces (which I never got to give to him, I'm still waiting...). Kristen bought Jay a really nifty silver eyeliner, and that's all that I can remember. So anyways, back to our departure... Then we tried to write on the windows of Kristen's car with white shoepolish, and found out that it wouldn't stick. So we left and drove to Safeway, bought some shoe polish, which Kristen broke accidentally, and then had to return. They didn't have any more, so we had to drive around looking for some damn shoepolish. We finally ended up using the stuff we had to start with, we just had to go over it a million times. By the time we were through, it was about 6:00, and we were behind schedule. But the Orgy-Moblie was ready to go!!! You can see pictures of it here. We drove for about 2 and a half hours, and when we were almost there, we stoppped at a Taco Bell (Prominent, y'all!!! heh heh) so I could stash my two cameras in my undies. Trust me, they were not very comfortable. We had April's bag packed with money and markers, along with stuff to sign. We drove past the line that was forming and I kept yelling out the window "ORGY KIX ASS!!!" I was so happy!!! When we found parking, we went and stood in line, only to discover that we forgot the signs. Oops. So I stayed in the line while Kristen and April went back to get our signs. We had three. One was the "Kim" sign, then we had one that said "Amir" on it, and mine that said "Paige" on one side and "Orgy" on the other. They were all big and neon, with assorted glitter and stuff on them. Very cool. So we stood in the line for around 2 hours before we got in. When it came to be my turn to be searched, I was so nervous I thought I was gonna throw up. Luckily they didn't find my cameras though. After I got in, we headed to the bathroom so I could change into the jeans I had brought. Then we went to check the times for Orgy's interview and the signing, and then went to try to find Kim, but she wasn't there yet. We were all really hungry, so we went to the little food court and Kristen went to stand in line for some fries. April was kneeling down and getting something out of the bag, and I was facing her. All of a sudden, she goes "Becky!!!! There's PAIGE!!!! PAIGE!!! And Jay!!!" and of course I turned to the side just in time to see Paige walk right by us wearing all black and his cowboy hat. He had some people with him. Then Jay walked by with his girlfriend. I of course was tweaking out, and yelling "Kristen!! Don't buy fries!!! No fries!!! Jay!!! Paige!!! Over there!!" and pointing like mad. Then my body took over and I was outta there. I don't remember this, but April swears it happened. As I was dashing to Paige, I ducked under someone and accidentally rammed into Jay's girlfriend, who hit Jay. He asked her if she was all right, and she said yeah. Sorry, Jay's girlfriend!!! Anyways, I ran up to Paige, saying "Paige we love you!!! You are so awesome!!" and as he turned around, he put his arms around me and gave me a hug!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!! I was so shocked I couldn't say anything, and he looked down at my shirt and says "Oh sweetie!!!" I just about died!!! I could only say something like "wait, you can't leave, I have a camera, it's back there" or something moronic like that. He had to go, and after he left, April and Kristen came running up to me and asking what happened. I had somehow forgotten how to speak English. I thought I told them what had happened, but no one understood me. By this time, I was on the ground (no joke) laughing hysterically and almost hyperventilating. I was so shocked, I couldn't believe it. It was so totally unexpected. It was only about 10:45 am. I was not expecting them to be there yet because they didn't go on until 8 p.m. We waited for awhile to see if Ryan, Bobby, or Amir was gonna go through, but no one did. So then we locked down and decided to go on a hunt for Orgy. We ran through the crowd in the direction Paige and Jay had gone. We kept going until we came to a big open spot, and suddenly April took off running, with Kristen behind her. I followed. Turns out April had spotted a new Orgy shirt across the grounds. The black one with the pictures. So we bought T-Shirts and headed over to this gate to sit down. I got up next to the gate and then I started hearing voices. I turned around, and what did I see? Orgy's tourbus!!!! They were parked right behind the gate, and Paige and Jay were standing around with some fans with backstage passes and Jay's girlfriend. We decided to try and act cool, heh heh, and not freak out this time. I took pictures, but none of them turned out, dammit. So we sat there for about an hour, trying to look at them out of the corner of our eyes. By this time, everyone was wondering where Amir, Bobby, and Ryan were. We saw where they were letting people in and headed over to another gate, where we met some nice fans. Hi Cena (sp?) Tasha, and whoever else we met!!!!!! We were trying to take pictures of Paige and Jay without getting noticed by the security guard, even though we later found out that he didn't care. I'm not sure exactly how much time passed, but we didn't leave there except to check and see if Kim was there yet. She didn't end up getting there until 2:30, though. We were all just standing around talking, and all of a sudden, someone says "Look!!! There's Bobby!!!" and lo and behold, I turned around just in time to see him walk right by me. He was with some people and his twin, Fabio. He was carrying a bunch of stuff, looked like equipment to me. I said "hi Bobby!!!!" and he looked back and waved at us!! Woo-Hoo!!! We didn't see Shane, though. Meanwhile, we kept seeing Paige and Jay get on and off the bus, and Jay walked out to sign a couple of times. He kept getting mauled, though, and we were all laughing about it. Not that it's funny,. but you should have heard all the people that kept saying "That's Jay fg Gordon!!! Oh my god!!!!" We sat out there for about another hour. Keep in mind, though, that this was a festival, and the tickets were a little under 50.00, and we had driven three hours, stood in line for 2 hours, and now we were parking ourselves outside the gate, and we weren't leaving. It was hot, I mean really really hot. After a while, Paige came walking out to us, and he said "We'll be out to sign stuff, but right now we got some shit to take care of." I made eye contact, and I was totally terrified. He was so nice to us, though. Then he left, and of course, he must have forgotten, because he never did come out to sign. If you're reading this, Paige, you owe us!!! Heh heh. After a while of seeing them walk by, we got kind of used to it, it's kind of weird. It got to be about 2:15, and Kim was gonna be on at about 2:30, so we headed over to the booth. In case you're wondering, Kim Monroe is the best deejay, and we had been calling her for a couple of weeks, begging for EndFest info and such. And then we cried a couple of times to her, like when she told us that Orgy was for sure doing a signing, and she wanted to meet us. I had seen one picture of her, and she ahd blonde hair, so I asked about 10 different blonde women if they were Kim, and no one was, so were kinda getting freaked out. All of a sudden, a lady came up and took the headphones, but she had dark short hair, so weren't sure if it was her. I shouted "Kim?" and she looked down at us, and we were all like "It's us!!! It's the Orgy girls!!! Can we come up and see you???!!!!!!!" and she motioned us to go around and go to the bottom of the stairs. She came down and gave us all hugs, I don't know about everyone else, but I had tears in my eyes. She did so much for us, giving us info we wouldn't have known and stuff. We got our picture taken with her, but it didn't turn out, dangit. We talked to her for a while, then she had to go back up and do her radio thing. :) We ran around to the front of the little stage, and whipped out our Kim sign. She was on-air, and she was like "These girls made me a sign!! It says Kim Kix ass!!!" and then we started chanting "Kim kix ass!! Kim kix ass!!" and we got the whole audience to do it!!! Then she said: "We got the Orgy Girls here!!!! Give it up for Paige, Amir, and Jay!!!!! YEAH!!!!!" She had the whole audience cheer for us, it was surreal. I don't think I've ever been that happy before. And the fact that we were live on air was really cool. So after she went to a break, we ran back around and gave her our sign, which she made us autograph, heh heh. We stayed there for about an hour, and then told her we were going back to the gate, so we didn't miss Orgy. When we did get back, we were told that Ryan and Amir had walked by with his silver makeup box, and a cell phone, and we'd barely missed him. April was upset, and we decided not to make a move. Then all of a sudden, Tasha says "Oh my god!!! Here comes Amir!!!!" April of course, freaked out and couldn't look at him. She was crying, and I was just shocked. He was wearing his black vesty thing with that over the shoulder bag thing that he velcroes on. You wanna know what the weird part was? He was wearing tight blue jeans with the cuff rolled up!!!! LoL!!! He walked into the backstage area and got on the bus. I think he was on his cell phone. After a little while, Bobby came out and went into the port-a-potty!!! We all started laughing, and asking the guard if we could go back there, cuz we needed to go to the bathroom.... After about another hour, we saw Amir get off the bus and decided that we needed to take action. So we got the signs out, and I started doing this cheer, it went like "Give me a P!!! (p!!!) give me an A!!! (a!!!!), etc. for all their names. Then we did the wave, and danced, considered flashing the bus, and tried to spell Orgy with our bodies. We were holding up signs and yelling when Amir came out of the bus on his cell phone. Someone said "SHHH!!!!! Amir's on the Phone!!!!!!" and we all shut up. Of course, Amir heard us, and started laughing hysterically at us. He was walking on a concrete car bumper thing, and he was trying to balance on it. Then he hung up the phone and put it into his bag thing. Then he came up to the fence and unzipped his pouch and whipped out a sharpie. Everyone was yelling "Amir!!!" but there were only about 20 people there at the time. We got up next the fence, and as April handed over her pic to be signed, I asked him "So Amir, how does it feel to be mauled?" and he was like "huh?" and I asked again, and he started laughing, and said "Oh, I thought you said how does it feel to be in a mall!!!" Then Kristen asked him "Amir, do you like her pants?" as she gestured to April. April has the same pants that Amir has, the ones with the zippers and the knee pads. He was like "I like them. You can get those at, uh, uh, Hot topic, right?" and smiled. April was dying, I swear. I had him sign Paige and Ryan's Ibanez ad, which was the only thing I could get to at the time. As he was walking away, someone asked him "Amir, where did you get your shoes?" (he was wearing black platforms) and he looked down at them, and sort of laughed and said "I don't remember!!!" Ryan was hanging around in the background, and when we burst into a Ryan cheer, he was like "YEAH!!! ROCK ON!!!!!" He is so awesome!!!!! After about another hour, it was getting close to time for the signing, which was at 6:00, and the interview, which was at 6:30. Then we saw the whole group come walking down towards us with some blonde girl and another girl. Fabio was with them also, and his girlfriend. The girls pushed us out of the way, saying stuff like "They can't stay. They have an interview!!" and stuff like that. We were kinda confused, because they told us the signing was first, but then we figured that she was just lying to get us out of the way. So I whipped out my slinky and Kristen handed it to Paige, and he was like "A slinky?!?" and I was like "Yeah, slinkies kick ass!!" When he walked away, he was playing with it though. We had no idea what to do next, so we went and tried to find Kim, but she was backstage somewhere, so we went and hung out by where they were doing the signing. Some band was up there, I have no idea who it was, but all of a sudden Jay appeared next to the fence and started signing, so I walked over there and tried not to get all squished, but it didn't work. As I was getting up next to the fence, someone shoved me and I went flying up to the fence, and got smashed right up next to Jay. We were so close that I was like touching his arm, and I couldn't move at all. I was just looking at him, thinking how weird this was, and noticing that he had a Love and Rockets shirt on, and that dang purse he carries around. And, of course, big expensive looking sunglasses. And you know the one thing I noticed, of course? Every time he would lift his arm up to hand back the autographed whatever, his shirt would lift and his tummy showed. :) He is definitely tan, and not very hairy. Trust me, I got a good look. Anyways, I was stuck up against the fence, and I said "Jay, dude, (ohmygodwhydidIsaythatword?) I'm stuck!! Help!!" and he looked at me kind of strangely, and then it was weird, cuz people moved back a little, and I got a little room, so I handed over the Ibanez ad again, and had Jay sign it. Then I got stuck again, and had to wait until he left before I could. He went back and dissapeared into the tour bus again. Meanwhile, everyone had been telling me that I had missed the coolest thing when we went to go get Kim. They said that Jay had come out of the bus while buckling his belt, and saying stuff like "I just woke up, I'm not awake" and dammit, I missed it. So then we were standing around and April said "look!! There's Ryan!!!" and sure enough, he was back behind the U-Haul by the door of the tour bus. We snuck along the side of the tent where the signing was going to be, and got up right next to Ryan, and just kind of stared at him, and then we were yelling "Ryan!! You are so awesome!!" and stupid stuff like that. He was talking to someone, and they both started laughing at us, probably because we were hiding in the bushes looking at them... Oh well, call us what you will... So we went and got back in line to wait for Orgy to come out and do the signing. We were pretty far back in the line, but they had said that whoever bought a Candyass CD there would get to go to the front of the line, so Tasha bought one and we got up farther to the front. We couldn't really see anything over the heads of everyone, but we knew when Orgy came out because of all the cheering. All of a sudden, we were all shoved up, it was like a mosh pit, it totally sucked. I could barely breathe. We stood like that for probably 20 minutes until we were shoved up far enough to see that it was only Jay, Ryan, and Amir at the signing. I was kind of dissappointed not to see Paige or Bobby there, but hey, 3/5 of them were there. The person in charge was taking two people and shoving them through this crack and out to where Orgy was sitting behind a table. When I got up there, I couldn't find April, so I grabbed Tasha's arm and we got shoved through. Just as I came through, I said something like "Dammit!!! That flippin' hurt!!!" and Amir looked up and smiled, probably thinking "oh great, are they ever gonna go away?" or something like that. I went up to Amir because he was first in line, and then Jay, and then Ryan. I asked Amir to sign the Ibanez ad again, because all the rest of my pics were in April's bag. He was real quiet, and I accidentally left this fan I made in front of him. It said Buffy the Vampire Slayer on it, but I crossed it out and put "Orgy the Vampire slayers" on it, and a bullet through her head. I asked if I could take a picture, and I did. You can see it here. He's actually smiling!!! Wow!!! So I moved onto Jay and told him "Just pretend you're Ryan or something" and he signed it. While he was signing it, I aske him if I could take a pic, and then I was like "woo!! You and Ryan!!! Even better!!!" and they both leaned together. They weren't smiling-- so I was like "Just give me a nice big fake smile, come on, think happy thoughts, big fake one!!!!" and they smiled this huge smile, and they both look like dorks in the picture, which you can see here. So when I went to hand the ad to Ryan to sign, I found out he had already signed it. Not only that, but he and Jay signed the table cloth, and they were writing shit all over it, like "orgy" and stuff like that. They must have been bored. So then I got out of the little booth and went outside, and started being all tweaked out and stuff. Then I decided I better get some more pictures of Amir for April, so I stuck my head into the tent and took 3 more pictures, and on one, April was in there, and I yellled "April!! Look up!!" so now she has a picture of her and Amir in the same room. You can see these here. After April and Kristen came out, we decided we better get to the booth, and find out if Kim was going to let us come up to the booth during the interview, which was starting in like 10 minutes. She said "sure" and we were all excited, jumping up and down. So the minutes went slow, we watited and enjoyed all these people looking at us, wondering why we were being shown favourtism... (we worship the ground you walk on, Kim) All of a sudden, we heard the yells start and saw Amir and Ryan approaching. Amir had all of his makeup now, by the way. They walked right by us, giving us a smile of recognition, and headed up the stairs. We of course, looked at Kim and motioned her down to us, and asked her "Can we come up now?" and she went up the stairs and started talking to some guy who we later found out was the record management rep. Amir and Ryan walked over to him, and we could see him shaking his head, and we could hear Kim, Amir, and Ryan all arguing with him. Then they looked towards us and pointed at us, and then Kim came down the stairs, and she said "They won't let me bring you up there. They (motioning towards Amir and Ryan) want you up there, but he won't let you". We were bummed of course, and the guy could tell, so he came down the stairs and asked if we had anything we wanted signed. I, of course, had already had Amir sign my ad twice, and there wasn't wnough time to get anything else out, so I said No. April got her book full of Mir pictures that I had made for her and gave it to him, and I don't remember if anybody else gave him anything else. So he took it up and Amir signed it and then he brought it back down again. We all just kind of stood there for a minute, and I looked up and saw Ryan, who had sat down in a chair and was looking over the railing. He saw me too, and believe it or not, we started playing "peekaboo" and I was like "Hey guys, he's playing peekaboo!!!!!!" It was so damn funny, but then we ran to the other side of the tower and got in the front. I was really dissapointed not to see the other guys there, but it was cool just to see Ryan and Amir. They started the interview, and the DJ asked something like "So what do you think of the Pacific Northwest?" and we just started screaming!!!!!!! Amir and Ryan both looked down at us, maybe because I have the loudest scream I've ever heard... Heh heh.... I can't remember exactly what happened during the interview, I was still a little shocked... But I was kinda mad because I found out the Paige and Bobby were doing their signing during the interview, and I didn't want to leave just in case they decided to let us up, but I was upset about not getting to meet Paige and Bobby... :( After the interview we ran back around to the other side of the tower, and we had decided that April was going to hug Amir if we had to throw her into him. When they came down the stairs, some security guy came with and was shoving people out of the way, so we coudn't get close. It was cool though, because someone shoved me and I went flying into Amir. I must have something with shoving, heh heh... We waited to say thank you to Kim, and then we took off running for the gate again. trying to catch them again on their way back through. It was about 7 pm now, I think. Kim had told us to meet her here at 7:15, so we waited, and when she showed up, she told us she was going to try and get us backstage, so she headed behind the gate to find them. We saw her head back behind the tour bus and then we sat down to wait for her. After quite a while, she came back out and said "They're in preshow mode, they don't want anybody back, but I'll meet you guys here after the show and get you back then." We just about DIED!!!!!!! AHHH!!!! KIM MONROE IS SO COOL!!!!!!!! So we waited a couple more minutes to see if they were going to come back through, but of course, they never did, so at about 7:30, we left and went to find our spots for the show. We were about the 20th people down on the floor, they were playing the 2nd. stage at a 2 stage show, they were supposed to be closing it. We were really hoping that Kid Rock would be on at the same time so that it would be less crowded, but we found out that he went on right after Orgy got over, except her was on the Main Stage. Then we found out that Orgy was only playing for about 35 minutes, so we were kinda pissed about that. But we were just happy to see them, heh heh. (Who wouldn't be?) So we were there for a while, I started feeling really sick, there were so many people around me, ack, I couldn't breathe. Then all of a sudden, 2 of my friends showed up and handed over a camera, yeah!!! So now I had three cameras, even though one was out of film, 2 signs (April decided she didn't want to carry hers, damn her), a jacket, and numerous other things, all stuffed in my pockets and in my hands. I was sitting down, and they were started hearing soundcheck, so I stood up and watched them do soundcheck. For Jay, they were saying stuff like "Jay motherfucking Gordon" and more like that. Then they did Amir, and they brought out his white guitar and his mint colored synth, and checked em. There was something wrong with the white one, but it got fixed. Then they did Paige. His bass was so far up my eyelids were vibrating. I swear, I have never heard a bass that loud before. Then they checked it with the FX pedal on, and it sounded like an airplane landing. They checked his mic, the soundcheck guy was like "Soundcheck, Pimp Daddy Paige, soundcheck 1 2 3" and all at once, all four of us raised our fists in the air and screamed... We were the only ones doing it, but hey, what can I say? They did Ryan (Ryan the Fuck Shuck!!!) and Bobby. Bobby's drums are awesome, we recognized the drum they used for the beginning of Blue Monday, I think it's a synth drum. So I was feeling gross, and hot, and tired, and I didn't know if I was going to be energetic for Orgy, but I shouldn't have worried. It was an open air stage, and after a couple of minutes, I saw a familiar head run by in the back of the stage. Amir had just run by, he was trying to hide!! Of course, I mentioned it to April, and we were both laughing about it. Then they were there!!! I don't know who walked on first, I believe it was Bobby, then Amir, then Paige, Ryan, and last of all, Jay. All of a sudden, the adrenalin hit me, and I was UP!!!! They burst into "Dissention" and everyone started moshing, it was wonderful and horrible all at the same time. Orgy wa SUPREME but the crowd was deadly!!! The setlist went: Dissention, Gender, Fetisha, Stitches, Sonic, Blue Monday. I think it was after Gender Jay talked to us (the crowd) and asked "Who has a hangover?" and Paige lifted his arms and he was like "me!!!" He had the funniest expression on his face, like he was all that. Which he is, heh heh. So, Orgy out on a great show, during Fetisha we whipped out our signs and held them up, we had people screaming at us to put them away because they couldn't see, but we left them up anyways... When Paige saw me with my sign, he (I swear to god) started liftin up the corner of his shirt like he was going to do a little strip tease. We of course, screamed our heads off. We had lots of eye contact and Paige and Amir kept smiling at us. During Gender, April left the moshpit and I tried to follow her so she wasn't all alone, but I lost her. By this time, I had coke all over the front of my white shirt and a crowdsurfer or four had landed on my head, so I looked like a mess. When I lost her, I headed back to the front and attached myself to Tasha's arm and wouldn't let go. They put on a GREAT show, it had to have been the best one I've ever been to. When they started Sonic, I couldn't tell what it was, and I had to keep ducking all the crowdsurfers, but I realized what it was when I heard Jay say "Sonic". Of course, during Blue Monday the crowd went wild and I was screaming my head off, it was a wonderful way to end the show. It was a small stage, Jay was whipping his microphone forwards instead of to the side like he usually does. After they finished, Tasha and I headed to the gate, acutally we took of running for it. No way we were going to miss Kim!!! There were a few other people there, but we got up next to the gate for a while, and then we saw Orgy coming back through. I tried to get close, and someone shoved me into Paige, but that was okay. He had his hand out slapping high fives, and so I grabbed it, and people, he's got some soft hands!!! Kristen asked him for a hug and he gave her one, and then they were gone again. We sat down to wait for Kim, all we could hear was KidRock, and then Kristen was like "hey, isn't that Jared Leto?" and sure enough it was!!! So we got to meet Jared Leto too!! He was there because Limp Bizkit was there, and Jared's band is looking for a label to sign them and I guess they were looking at Limp Bizkit's label. I was too tired to remember to take any pictures, oops. It was about 9:30, me and Tasha decided that we were going to wait until 9:45 and then go look for Kim. To make a long story end a little quicker, she never showed up, Orgy left, and so did we. Of course, as soon as we got into the car and started driving, April started crying and so did I, and I think Kristen did too. It was the most awesome day ever!!! Thanks to ORGY for making it that way, and tons of love goes to Kim Monroe, the best Deejay in the world!!! Thanks for everything!!!!
